This Cookie Policy explains how GradeClarity.com uses cookies and similar technologies.

1. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit websites. We also use the term to refer to similar browser storage mechanisms such as localStorage and sessionStorage.

2. Cookies and Similar Technologies We Use

GradeClarity does not use the following:

• Advertising cookies (ads are not yet enabled)
• Personalization cookies
• localStorage, sessionStorage, or cookies for grades, inputs, thresholds, or results
• IndexedDB for data persistence
• Device fingerprinting

Your grade inputs and calculation results are processed entirely in browser memory and are not stored using any browser storage mechanism.

Cloudflare may set cookies or process request data to deliver the site and protect it from abuse. For more information, see:

4. Analytics

Cloudflare Web Analytics provides cookie-free aggregate page metrics. Optional Google Analytics 4 (GA4) is blocked until you select Allow analytics. Neither service receives grades, scores, final weights, targets, thresholds, letter grades, reachability states, score buckets, free text, or calculation results from the application.

Cloudflare may process technical request and beacon data under its own privacy policy. GA4 is configured without Google Signals, advertising personalization, User-ID, user-provided data, precise location/device collection, or Google Ads linking. Its event retention is two months.

5. Advertising (Phase 2, if enabled)

Phase 1 does not display advertisements. If advertising is introduced in the future (e.g., Google AdSense), we will:

• Update this Cookie Policy to disclose the advertising provider(s)
• Disclose any advertising cookies used for ad delivery, measurement, or personalization
• Implement Google Consent Mode v2 or an equivalent consent mechanism for EU/EEA/UK users before loading personalized advertising cookies
• Place ads away from the calculator and results areas

Any future ads will comply with the advertising network’s policies and applicable privacy laws.

6. Managing Cookies and Browser Storage

Use Analytics choices in the GradeClarity footer to allow, decline, or withdraw optional GA4. Withdrawing consent removes accessible _ga cookies and reloads the page without the Google tag. You can also manage or delete cookies through your browser settings:

• Chrome: Settings → Privacy and security → Cookies and other site data
• Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies and Site Data
• Safari: Settings → Privacy → Cookies and website data
• Edge: Settings → Cookies and site permissions

Because GradeClarity does not store your grades or calculator settings in browser storage, clearing cookies or site data will not affect your calculations. Clearing site data resets the analytics preference, so we may ask for your choice again.

7. Do Not Track (DNT) and Global Privacy Control (GPC)

We respect the following privacy signals:

• Do Not Track (DNT) browser header
• Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal

When these signals are detected, optional GA4 is not loaded. Cloudflare may still process technical requests needed to deliver and protect the site and its cookie-free aggregate Web Analytics beacon.

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
